Looking over my copies of her books, I find that The Dream of a Common Language: Poems 1974-1977 ($2.95!!) is the most battered. The Dream of a Common Language: Poems, 1974 - 1977 As the others on the list are single volumes, I selected The Dream of a Common Language which contains the extraordinary "Twenty-One Love Poems" by Rich. The Dream of a Common Language is the fourth book of poetry by Adrienne Rich I have read so far in 2010- but surprisingly it is the first one I am reviewing. The first thing I found was a copy of The Dream of a Common Language (Poems 1974-1977). They demand belief, and it is a measure of her success as a poet that most of the time they get it. €�Rich's poems do not demand the willing suspension of disbelief.
